As part of Sam's Bar Mitzvah celebration, he is doing a food drive for the Food Bank of Westchester. Sam volunteers every year on Yom Kippur at the food van, which benefits for Food Bank of Westchester, and loves doing so. In an effort to promote tikkun olam (repairing the world) Sam would like to invite his guests to do a mitzvah by bringing non-perishable food items to the synagogue. There will be a box in the lobby to collect the donations. Appropriate foods include cereals, pastas, canned fruits and vegetables, canned or dry beans, canned or boxed soups, peanut butter and jelly. Please check the expiration dates of all donated items, as the Food Bank is not able to use expired items. If you would prefer to send a check, and maximize the impact of your contribution, please feel free to visit the website for the Food Bank of Westchter. Thank you for your generosity, and for making this day even more meaningful.
